Robotic Process Automation Developer(RPA)
I was an integral part of establishing and developing the Robotic team at Postnord. Together with my coworkers with established a center of excellence and designed the whole automation process from stretch.
The job at postnord has given me a vast experience of RPA developing and how to build the most maintainable and effective RPA bots. Furthermore it also provided me with insights on how a business best utilizes RPA and how much value it can provide implemented correctly.
Most Used Developer Tools
UiPath is a specialized software that uses .net to build robots that can automate User Interfaces.
Orchestrator is online scheduling tool developed for UIPath robots, which we used for scheduling, logging and maintaining the robots.
Sharepoint - Powerapps, microsoft flow, Nintex forms and some javascript for developing automatisation and net forms, that was used to ensure standardized data.
Postgresql and pgadmin for creating and managing databases
Trello, Onedrive and Microsoft Teams for team collaboration
SourceTree and Bitbucket was used for source control
Mircosoft Office for various administrative functions
Remote desktop for operating our terminal server which was used to run our robots.
Accomplishments
20 small RPA Robots - automated the interaction between systems/programs like excel, outlook, SAP, salesforce, sharepoint and many interal postnord systems. Most used technologies used (Uipath, .net, sharepoint (powerapps, flows and nintex forms))
Postnord forecast - This was a big data project, where a postgresSQL database were build to gather and use production data to estimate forecasts for the national parcel flow. Along with the database a website and app was build to communicate the forecast out to 24 hubs and 5 terminals. The website was also build as a small
datawarehouse, which allowed our forecast specialist to investigate trends and manually adjust the forecast if needed. Technologies used (postgresSQL, metabase, coldfusion, javascript, html, powerapps )
Item Search (Big RPA Robot) - I was part of building and maintaining the biggest RPA robot postnord has which saves around 5 FTE yearly. The aim of this process was to automate the processing of customer complaints which usually came in by phone, e-mail or an online formulas to salesforce. The robot had an advanced queue system where it prioritized between four queues and cases added dynamically by users. It processes each case by looking up the associated barcode in six different search engines and add the missing information to the case along with a recommendation for what to do with the complaint.
